Nate begs his twin sister, Brenda, to return to their childhood home, where we first see them. Emotionally drained, from her own life and witness to a entire life of delusion and paranoia, she is skeptical of Nate’s proposal and plan. But despite her doubts, she’s drawn deep into his world of chaos.
As emergency sirens blare and the outside world descends into panic and chaos, Nate convinces Brenda to follow him into the cave, a place where they use to play as children, and that now he belives to be their only path to survival. The two race through the forest as the blinding light of the apocalypse engulfs them.
Brenda finally chooses to trust her brother, stepping into the cave with him as everything around them collapses. The lines between delusion and reality blur, and the siblings face an uncertain fate together.
Character Name: Brenda Fisher
Age: mid 30's.
Personality: Brenda is a force of nature—sarcastic, dry, and witty. She’s highly in control of both her personal and professional life. A thick armor helped her survive a traumatizing childhood, pretecting the side of her that she would NEVER, ever shows to anyone, her brother being the exception. He’s the only person with whom she’s truly herself. The relief of shedding her armor can sometimes go too far, revealing only her fragility, vulnerability, fear, and sadness. It's the rawest version of herself she’s ever shown after years of hiding.
Appearance: When Brenda arrives at the house, she’s a complete hot mess—mascara running, makeup smudged, wearing an out-of-place party dress, and her hair disheveled. She’s clearly at her wit’s end.
Background/Role: Brenda is/was the CEO of a media conglomerate. Her parents died in a car accident when she was only 7 years old. She and her brother survived, though her brother was in critical condition for many weeks afterwards. They were placed into the foster system, transitioning through a couple of families with the intention of keeping the siblings together. Her brother, suffering from schizophrenia and extreme bipolar disorder, has been in and out of mental institutions throughout his life. This has had a huge impact on Brenda, as she never allowed herself to show any weakness in order to overcompensate for her brother.
Key Traits/Motivations: Brenda is unable to accept what’s happening. Faced with the possibility of a meteor hitting Earth and ‘the end of the world,’ she is, for maybe the first time, completely out of reasons to hide anything. She wants her brother to get better, back in to treatment, and if that’s not happening, maybe they can run away somewhere far and start over again. Or maybe, for once, she will accept and trust her brother and follow him instead.Location: Blidö & Stockholm (3 nights & 1 night)
